A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Growing up with epilepsy was like climbing a mountain in the dark, blindfolded, with no guide but your own determination to keep moving forward. It wasn’t just a boundary, though at the time it felt insurmountable—it was a kind of teacher, relentless in its lessons. While other children absorbed the world with ease, for me, learning required something else entirely. I had to relearn how to think, how to process, how to understand. At first, I grieved the weight of those hurdles. They seemed unfair, a punishment without cause. But over time, I came to see them as something more: the crucible in which my resilience was forged. It was through those moments of struggle that I began to understand the subconscious mind, the quiet force shaping the course of our lives.
Epilepsy revealed a simple but profound truth: life demands effort, comprehension, and an unwavering commitment to discovery. Psychology became my path, not by chance but by necessity. Seizures—those moments of disassociation—posed a question that would follow me for years: How can you know yourself when you feel so distant from who you are? That question drove me to unravel the complex threads of human emotion, the peaks of joy and the valleys of perceived limitation. I learned that our essence is not random, but intricately woven, strand by strand, through the experiences of our formative years. Refusing to let my childhood define me, I made psychology my compass.
In my practice today, I carry these lessons with me. I have the privilege of guiding clients through their own stories—children facing the weight of trauma, adults striving for self-awareness, each one shaped by the echoes of their past. Their stories are testaments to how the beliefs and dialogues of childhood ripple into adulthood, shaping how we see ourselves, how we connect, how we love. My work is grounded in the understanding that mental health is not a separate entity; it is the cornerstone of a well-lived life. My mission is to help clients reconcile the beliefs they once held with the person they are becoming.
Compassion and empathy guide my approach, creating a space where personal narratives can unfold without judgment. I honor the intricate connection between the mental, physical, and spiritual, employing a range of strategies—relational techniques, cognitive-behavioral therapy, EMDR, mindfulness—all tailored to help clients heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, and more. These are not just tools; they are pathways back to oneself.
To heal is to honor the fullness of your story—the grief, the triumph, the questions still unanswered. It’s a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they uncover their truth, to witness the transformation that occurs when they step fully into who they are. This work is not easy, but it is profound. It is about more than healing; it is about becoming. And that, I’ve learned, is worth everything.
My goal with each client is to create a non-judgmental and caring environment so it is safe to share the full story of their life and what influences them.
My passion is to empower clients to share their stories with authenticity, acknowledging the full spectrum of their life experiences. It’s a profound privilege to observe the healing that ensues from integrating mental, physical, and spiritual practices into one’s daily regimen. As I continue this journey, my commitment is to nurture a space where healing blooms, and true selves can thrive, ready to embrace the unfolding path of life.
